Nice guy at the local shop. He said my left tail lig ht was a little dim so I needed to clean the inside of the lens (fair), and passed me.
Pretty
sure it will pass, just safety and no emissions for cars over 25 years old in Texas.

The M3 passed the Texas inspection with tires that needed to be replaced , I’m sure you’ll be fine.

In Texas, I think David Tracy’s stuff might be able to pass safety, I don’t get the sense that they are especially diligent. Though last I had mine done they were having (a bit too much) fun repeatedly failing a Chinese guy with a BMW for some evap problem.

I'm not sure yet. It is definitely louder than I want it, so at some point I’ll make a change, but that is low on the list right now.

California is the opposite, no safety inspections but emissions testing every 2 years once a car reaches 5-6 years old.
That’s the reason why you see everything from total jalopies to ex-stock cars and trophy trucks driving around, complete with full registration. If they pass emission, they are on the road.
I wouldn’t mind some safety inspections considering some of the things I’ve seen on the road here.
